WORLD HELICOPTER CHALLENGE FOR CHARITY

Concept

To circumnavigate the globe in a helicopter, stopping at as many relevant ‘children in need’ locations around the globe, taking as many philanthropic partners to remote and unique locations with me along the way and raising as much money as possible for charity!

Andy Haffenden is an adventurer at heart, he has raised a modest amount for charity over the years supporting charities such as the RNLI, Cancer Research and various Children’s Hospices in the UK. In the past Andy has circumnavigated the UK several times in a 5m RIB, crossed the North Sea in a 6m RIB, snowboarded a large proportion of the French alps in 3 days and wake boarded several miles dressed as Santa clause all for charity!

Having taken several years out of adventuring for business and family reasons Andy is now back at the helm of a new challenge and this is where WHC4C has been born. Andy has been a helicopter pilot for circa 10 years and has flown with some of the best pilots around, he was taught by world helicopter freestyle champion Dennis Kenyon and has embarked on several endurance delivery flights through Europe.

The Route

This is somewhat open to confirmation and dependent on the individuals and companies that commit support to the charity adventure. Below is a rough outline of the route most recently discussed by the operations team, it is worthy to note that we would like to extend further into Africa, dip down to the Caribbean and make firm plans for most optimal and worth while routing through the USA.
